The Ivy Harrogate unveils it’s Marrakesh-inspired terrace and limited-edition cocktail menu

If you follow the blog you’ll know I love a good G&T – so when I heard about The Ivy, Harrogate collab with Elephant Gin I was excited to hear more!

Inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent botanical garden

The Ivy Harrogate has transformed its terrace into a Moroccan oasis, inspired by the beautiful Yves Saint Laurent botanical garden in Marrakesh.

The Elephant G&T (£9.50), a refreshing classic gin and tonic (L) Barbar’s Breakfast; Elephant Gin, Grand Marnier, lemon juice, orange marmalade and an orange twist (R).

Available from Thursday, 3 September for six weeks, The Ivy Harrogate offers guests a taste of Morocco in the heart of Yorkshire with a beautiful installation and limited-edition cocktail menu. Working closely with Yorkshire florist, Helen James, the brasserie’s entrance and terrace have been updated with a colourful display of eye-catching blooms. Guests are also able to relax on the terrace whilst enjoying a delicious cocktail from a specially curated menu, created in collaboration with Elephant Gin.

Kandual Fizz (£11.95) combines lemon juice and Champagne (L) and Effervessing Elephant (£10.25), a delicious combination of ginger juice, apple juice and prosecco (R)

Cocktails include The Elephant G&T (£9.50), a refreshing classic gin and tonic garnished with an apple fan and served in a balloon glass, and the Effervessing Elephant (£10.25), a delicious combination of ginger juice, apple juice and prosecco. Finally, the Kandual Fizz (£11.95) combines lemon juice and Champagne to create a perfectly celebratory concoction.

Gin and Champagne – what’s not to like?

My fave was the Kandual Fizz; because Gin, lemon and Champagne make quite the perfect combo. The classic G&T was a huge hit too.

Elephant Gin

The founders were inspired to create Elephant Gin following their own adventures in Africa. They strongly believe that this generation has a responsibility to support the African wildlife today, so others can continue to enjoy it in the future.

In 2013, they developed the award-winning Elephant London Dry Gin (45%) that uses rare African botanicals and focuses on resolutely artisan production methods.

Since December 2015, the company has complemented its portfolio with an aromatic Elephant Sloe Gin (35%) and in March 2017 introduced a full-bodied Elephant Strength (57%).

For each full-size bottle sold, 15% of profits are donated to elephant conservation projects in Kenya and South Africa. To date, Elephant Gin has contributed over €500,000 to its partner foundations through the sales of its bottles as well as fundraising events.

Press review – The Ivy Harrogate kindly invited us to enjoy the drinks and dinner with their compliments.
