Fancy learning something new in 2024? North Yorkshire Adult Learning have a host of courses to help you upskill at work, help your kids at home or just to enjoy with some much needed time for yourself.
They have a huge range of mostly FREE courses to choose from so check out their website.
Here are just a few reasons you might want to make 2024 the year of new learning, I’ve picked out some of my favourite courses below…
1. Work Towards a New Job or Promotion
Is 2024 the year you’ve resolved to find that new job or go for that promotion? Taking a FREE Adult Learning course and upskilling might just tip your CV making you even more employable.
- Work towards getting yourself a promotion at work with a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading or How to Chair a Meeting
- Or bag yourself a new career or career change with accountancy courses; such as Introduction to Bookkeeping or Payroll courses.
- Maybe you’re looking for a job to fit around the kids with no pressure in a café or shop, taking one of these employability courses such as Food Safety Awareness or Health and Safety in the Workplace should increase your confidence in applying.
2. Learn a New Skill
Maybe you’re looking to become an even better volunteer at a community group, like Playgroup or Brownies etc.
- A TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism, or Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young People could support you, and those around you, to help others in your community.
3. Do Something for Yourself!
Did you set 2024 as a year to invest in yourself? Fancy a new hobby or just something to support your own self care.
- Learning a new craft is a great way to unwind. This introductory creative crafts course really caught my attention and offers the chance to progress on to the level 1 or 2 course.
4. Support your Child
Classroom maths has changed a LOT since I was at school, taking a FREE course can help you support your child with their homework and with their SATs. There are courses to help you understand social issues for children and young people too.
- Support Your Child With Key Stage2 Maths or learn more about issues you hear about and want to understand, such as County Lines and Cuckooing
5. Learn Something New at a Time That Suits You
Adult Learning North Yorkshire offer distance learning courses, Ideal for those who work shifts, don’t have set working hours, or just can’t commit to a course with fixed times, distance learning offers an extremely flexible approach to learning. Distance learning courses allow you to learn remotely, without attending any lessons in a classroom while still having access to a specialist teacher to mentor you throughout the course. These courses are broken down into bite-sized modules which you can revisit as many times as you need.
There’s a variety of topics covered and when you complete ANY distance learning course within four weeks for enrolling, you’ll also bag yourself a £20 Amazon voucher to spend on whatever you like!
