The Hundred is an action-packed, unmissable, 100-ball cricket competition that will put you on the edge of your seat.
Everyone is welcome. We took the three kids (15 year old twin girls and the Small Boy, 9). Grandma has also got massively into The Hundred, so she came along too!
The Northern Superchargers
Our local team in The Hundred are the Northern Superchargers, play at Headingley. Matches are played all over the UK so there might be one near you too if you look it up.
It features world-class players and massive names from around the world. Eight brand new city-based women’s and men’s teams compete over five weeks every summer.
Great Family Atmosphere at The Hundred
We had loads of fun, I imagine it has a similar atmosphere to a baseball game in America! There were people wandering around with hot dogs and ice creams. We saw loads of kids laughing and enjoying the atmosphere, loud music playing the latest hits was singing out and there were even pyrotechnics galore! Plus there was even a full on Mexican wave!
It was a spectacle to behold and fun to be a part of. I’d definitely recommend it as a family activity, there is lots to watch, as well as the cricket (!) and it was a great evening out.
Lots going on
There are activities to get involved with outside the stadium so arrive early to make the most of it, and there are lots of food vendors too.
We also picked up some freebies on offer from sponsors too! The Small Boy got in on the free face-paint action and we hit up the free photo booth!
It helped that we had glorious weather and the snack game was strong! Kids tickets are only £5 each, which makes it very affordable.
