Harrogate has a new Spa in town! The Harrogate Spa has opened at the new Double Tree by Hilton Harrogate Majestic Spa and hotel as part of its £15 million refurbishment. I went down to check it out and can report it’s really very lovely!
The Harrogate Spa
As part of the new Spa there’s a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, plus a steam room, sauna, thermal shower and ice fountain as well as a Mud Rasul Ritual treatment experience.
The Pool at The Harrogate Spa
The pool was a lovely shade of blue, reflected with some starry spotlights above, which made it feel very swish. The sauna was great, with a glass wall so you could see out to the pool whilst you were relaxing.
Rasul Treatment at The Harrogate Spa
The Rasul Ritual treatment was loads of fun, great for up to four people, so experiencing it on a girls get together would be perfect! It includes three ‘mud/clay’ treatments each; one for body, hair and face and after you’ve applied them you relax in the warm and the steam and then multiple rain showers help wash the mineral treatments off!
Six Treatment Rooms
Downstairs there’s an addition of six treatment rooms, for both joint and single use alongside a beautiful relaxation room.
There will soon be some banquet seating added to the spa lounge area which is where guests will be able to enjoy a dining experience too.
Carters Restaurant at The Majestic Hotel
We were treated to dinner in the hotel restaurant after the Spa at Carters. The restaurant is very beautiful and the food was excellent.
To start I enjoyed a smoked haddock and spring onion fishcake served with a crayfish mayonnaise, which was really tasty.
Dinner is Served
I followed that up with an heriroom tomato tatin, served with a artichoke, fennel and olive ragout. My Mum, who was my guest for the evening, had the most delicious Sole Meuniere which was served with a Champagne, brown butter and caper sauce. It was one of the nicest sauces I’d ever tasted and the fish was cooked perfectly!
For desert we both shared the creme brulee which is something I most definitely will be heading back to enjoy again.
The service was spot on and the staff were all really attentive with great customer service.
A gorgeous way to spend an evening
