What’s on at June Half Term in Harrogate for Kids

I think June half term is quite a nice one. The weather can often be half decent and there’s usually a bank holiday in there somewhere too. It’s always great to have an extra pair of hands if the kids are off for a week, even if it’s just for one of the days and it’s perfect for some family time together!

We’re lucky in Harrogate that as a tourist town our local gardens and open areas are an extra lovely space for us to enjoy too, for free! Being a destination town also means that there are lots of local events on that we get to reap the benefits from too!

With most of the local schools breaking up on Friday here are just a few ideas if you’re looking to fill your time over the half term holidays.

1.) Betty’s and Taylors Family Woodland Festival – Saturday 28th May, 10am to 4pm. You can read all about the exciting things they have planned for the festival on my blog post about it.

2.) RHS Harlow Carr ‘Get Back to Nature’ Celebrating 100 Years of Scouting – 28th May to 5th June. They have loads of great stuff planned for the week, you can read more about what exactly is going on there on my blog post What’s On at RHS Harlow Carr at Half Term when I publish it later this week!

3.) North Rigton Flower Pots Fiesta – 28th May to 12th June. This looks like loads of fun, with the added bonus of it starting from the Square and Compass pub so there’s a perfect excuse for a little pub lunch/tea! Better still they open from 9am so it’s ideal for coffee too!

4.) Harrogate Odeon Cinema – Alice Through the Looking Glass – Saturday 28th June to Thursday 4th June (Weekdays 14.30 and 17.15) Perfect for those rainy days, though it does look a little creepy to me!

5.) All the Fun of the Fair on Oatlands Stray  – Friday 27th May to Sunday 5th June – opens at 2pm. Remember to take lots of cash and brief your children on how many rides they’ll be allowed on before you go, if you don’t want to come home bankrupt!
