Jaeger – En Pointe in Harrogate for Mama Fashion

I’m just back from an amazing morning at Jaeger in Harrogate! I blogged about how Jaeger has changed in recent times and how much more fashion forward it now is. The store have got so many gorgeous pieces that you would have never imagined seeing in the ‘old’ Jaeger, at prices that are not as high as you would imagine!

The team is headed up by Michael, the Store Manager, and each and every one of the assistants  were friendly and helpful. Not at all as you fear they might have been in years gone by! The staff know the brand, and their beautiful range of stylish clothes, inside out and have the time and enthusiasm to share their expertise with you! The lovely Zena guided us around the collection when we were in store.

It’s really well worth bobbing in next time your in town and allowing yourself a good chunk of time to browse and try things on you might not normally go for! You’ll really be surprised by how they’ve changed and how approachable the staff are. Anyone going in would feel like they’d had a ‘personal shopping’ experience – with a relaxed style!

This coat was my favourite piece of the day. Love, love, loved it! I never would have imagined I’d have picked something like this up in Jaeger! It’s simply gorgeous and so en pointe at the moment! It’s made from boiled wool, making it really warm, yet light and I felt uber chic and on trend wearing it. It’s the sort of coat I know I’d wear for a long time to come and will become a classic piece!

Their beautiful cashmere was as timeless as ever, I remember by Mum buying me a Jaeger cashmere hoody for Christmas when I was about nineteen and I wore it to death! I had so many lovely compliments on it, I even remember them now! That’s when you know you’re wearing something special and people notice the quality.

Timeless Cashmere – wear a bit of luxury everyday

I tried on this beautiful grey cashmere jumper when I was in the store today and it brought back all those memories. I think if you’re buying a staple piece it will be a wardrobe classic for years to come, although expensive (this was £199), it’s of a quality you just can’t buy for that price elsewhere. You can feel it straight away when you put it on.

I know other high street stores sell cashmere, for a fraction of the price, but, in my opinion, the cut, fabric, styling and quality is no where near as good as in Jaeger. You really have to try them on to believe it for yourself and to see where the cost justifies itself. It really is so nice to wear a little bit of luxury every day!

Black Cat Suit alternative to an evening ‘gown’

The thing that struck me most in the store was how fashion forward the brand was. I tired on a black jumpsuit that fit perfectly –  which would be a statement piece as an evening outfit for an event that was so much more stylish than a run of the mill dress!

Look at the quality of this wool / cashmere camel coat

I LOVED almost all of their coats, which range in price from around £175 – £399 – which I know is expensive, but they are the sort of coats which would last you at least ten years, maybe more! The coasts were SO much more stylish in every way then the seasons ‘on-trend’ pick from cheaper high street stores which you may end up replacing year on year!

My favourite Coat – The Wool Cashmere Boyfriend Coat

This was my favourite! Wish I could have bought it – very simply stylish and elegant! It fit perfectly! You can see it oozes refinement and style! It’s one of this years best sellers for them!

They had some fab Autumn throw-ons like this poncho (£199) which I would love to pop on to do the school run in!

And my favourite piece, and something I couldn’t resist bringing home, was this cute little black dress – technically a ‘tunic’ (£110) from their ‘Laboratory’ collection which is described as ‘Contemporary. Cool. Covetable. A limited-edition capsule collection’.

They are easy to wear pieces, that you can throw on, wash easily and hang to dry! Best of all everything in the collection looked amazing and fashion forward!

I know I will wear this dress for all sorts of occasions, dressed up with heels, dressed down with leggings and flat ankle boots or with trainers. For date night dinner, for drinks with the Mamas, for meetings, for family events. It’s immensely wearable!

Just loved the design features, the material and this neckline!

It’ll be something I wear and wear, because I love it, it’s SO easy to wear (very forgiving) yet it’s just a little bit different and something I know people are going to ask me – where did you get that from?!

There were also some fab accessories, which would make the perfect Christmas gifts for a hard to buy for Mama. I ADORED this bright yellow clutch (£99) a perfect evening bag against a black dress! The pop of colour would make all the difference to an outfit! I also thought their 3D printed jewellery  from Wonderluk was pretty fab too! The earrings (£40) have been a particularly good seller!

Jaeger also sell a great denim range all designed by Donna Ida, denim design goddess. Their jeans were a beautifully soft, yet robust enough that they would be easy to wear, I also thought all the intricate touches that went with the pieces in the denim collection were well styled too. This jumper had star detailing on the back – which gave it much more of an edge that your average black wool jumper!

There really were so many items I could have come home with – were it not for the price of course! But when I compare prices, Jaeger’s not so much different to similar high-end high-street stores in town. In fact I think a lot of their prices were much better value for money and I know that it would be getting something worth the value – if that makes sense!

I think if you’re looking for something special, are wanting to treat yourself (or someone else) or for a birthday or Christmas gift you would definitely find a wardrobe staple, with a fashion focus, that you’d wear day in day out, for years to come. The quality, style and range and the approachable, knowledgable staff are all second to none! It’s certainly worth a visit next time you’re in town.
