Looking for some new family meal inspiration?

With the kids going back to school this week I’ve been back to menu planning meals for the week (yawn). Coming up with new options is always a struggle. So I was over the moon when the lovely chaps at SNAP!Recipebox got in touch. They have a new, funky, little family business, running from Thirsk whereby they gather the best, local, farm-fresh ingredients from around Yorkshire, deliver it in a box straight to your door and then share with you how to prepare it into tasty meals for you and your family.

I love to champion local independent businesses on my blog, and given that SNAP!Recipebox  do lots of championing of their own,  it seemed like a perfect fit!

Their boxes look like a great way to meal plan and confidently turn perfectly fresh, local, produce into wholesome, scrumptious, meals. Plus it seems like it would  give you the feel good factor too, as with each bite you know you’re supporting local produce providers and giving back to the local community’s economy, all the while getting to enjoy the best and freshest tastes of Yorkshire.

The locally sourced ingredients from the box

The small, dedicated company work with over 30 local farmers, growers and independent food producers to curate the ingredients for their boxes. Food miles are reduced, their packaging is recyclable, compostable or reusable and all the ingredients arrive pre-measured so there’s no waste. It seems like a neat little product and service with a lot of local benefit.

Their boxes are only available once a month at the moment, if you want to order a box for this month the last order date is Thursday April 21st. Their website has lots more details about the recipe boxes.

I’m excitedly awaiting my first box arrival and will fill you in on what I thought of the service, the produce, the recipes and obviously the tasting in a few weeks! Has it whet your appetite for supporting local produce providers and taking ‘eating local’ to a whole new level?!
