Monday 8th August
Free family crafts in the Courtyard at Harewood House
Available from 11.00am – 3.00pm. Free with normal entrance admission prices.
Harrogate Library – Whizzpopping Big Friendly Celebration
A morning of buckswashing activities including creating your own dream bottle. From 10-11.15am £1* per person. Booking is required. Suitable for 7-11 yrs
Big Friendly Lego Party at Starbeck Library
Build lots of amazing things with Lego. Free. Suitable for 4-11 year olds.
Tuesday 9th August
Decorate a Plant Pot at the Mercer Art Gallery
Decorate your own plant pot and take a trail to discover plants and flowers in the Valley Gardens. From 2-4pm. £2.50 per box
Super Heroes ‘Three Days’ at Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds
Go and meet your favourite Superheroes!
Join them for three action-packed days of live combat demonstrations, comic book art workshops, live drawing sessions, face-painting and crafts. More details on the above link.
Intergalactic Storytelling at RHS Harlow Carr
Join the intergalactic, mad-capped Garden Detectives on a space exploration and enjoy space-themed stories. Normal garden entry applies.
Wednesday 10th August
Creative Covers at the Mercer Art Gallery
Design a notebook cover, create a star book and try calligraphy with an expert £3
(booking essential – children over eight can be left unattended) 1-4pm.
Big Friendly Lego Party at Harrogate Library
Build lots of amazing things with Lego. Free. Suitable for 4-11 year olds.
Cosmic Crafts at RHS Harlow Carr
Make a range of ‘rocket science’ accessories for your summer space adventure, from stars, sundials and comets to astronaut helmets and rocket launchers. Normal garden entry applies.
Stop Motion Animation at Bilton and Woodfield Community Library
Book onto a family learning workshop to make and animate a scene inspired by a Roald Dahl book. 10-12.30 and 1.30-4.00pm. Suitable for age 7 years+. The event is free but you need to phone to book a place for this event.
Scrumdiliyumptious Biscuit Decorating Knaresborough Library
Visit the library and decorate a biscuit. £1 per person suitable for 4-11 year olds. 1.30 – 3.00pm. The event is free but you need to phone to book a place for this event.
Thursday 11th August
Free children’s talk at Harewood House
The talk starts at 2pm (free – normal entry tickets applies).
Birds-of-Prey Flying Displays at RHS Harlow Carr
See the effects of gravity and aerodynamics up close and find out how the study of our feathered friends has influenced flight and space exploration during spectacular birds-of-prey flying displays with ‘Owl Adventures’. Normal garden entry applies.
Friday 5th August
