Their ‘head of beautiful’ had designed three perfectly gorgeous Christmas tables which I’m going to share with you below. Some of the tips and tricks are really easy to recreate at home, even I’m going to have a go!

Keep reading for top affordable, festive, decorating tips along with a peek at some of Betty’s newest festive range – perfect for those hard to buy for people!

Table One: Christmas Spice

This first table was inspired by the scents of Christmas baking, with elegant gold tones and smells of pine, citrus and spice. The gorgeous little gold goblets are from John Lewis – I loved them!

Just a simple trick of loosely tying napkins with a sprig of Rosemary and a cinnamon stick with a gold ribbon makes this look really affordable and achievable at home! The stunning table runner was crafted by Harrogate’s brilliant Caine florist.

Table Two: Continental Elegance

This second table was inspired by Betty’s Swiss Heritage. It used this amazing Swiss Alpine Village, which is all hand decorated from edible Lebkuchen biscuits as its centre piece.

Now, while you might not be thinking about paying £500 for one yourself (!) individually wrapped biscuits are available from £5.95 and they would make a charming table present.

I also thought the beautiful, almost dried, Hydrangeas were super pretty and in abundance in gardens at the moment – if you were feeling really crafty you could event spray them silver or gold!

Table Three: Winter Snow

This table was all about bright whites and and crisp crockery. The candelabra gave it a sense of drama and the fresh foliage made a statement contrast.

Christmas Tree

I loved these Christmas trees, the main tree was home grown locally from Stockeld Park, it’s decorated very traditionally but still modern at the same time. When you look closer it’s not that tricky to achieve such a classic look yourself.

It’s decorated with hanging star garlands, a willow star and adorned with edible Lebkuchen hanging tree biscuits. Just add a few twinkly lights and you’ve got your very own Betty’s tree before you know it!

Perfect Betty’s Christmas Gifts to give

I do love to shop at Betty’s for Christmas – there are SO many lovely things to choose from it’s just a matter of sorting out what would be best for who! Here’s my top pick this year!

For your Mum – Lady Betty Afternoon Tea

We were treated to this amazing spectacle at the blogger event and it was as delicious as ever! I blogged about it over the summer, you can read my full write up on What Delights does a Lady Betty Afternoon Tea Hold?. If you’re looking to treat your Mum vouchers start from £32.95

For your Mother in Law – The Belmont Chocolate Box

One of the best things about attending the Betty’s event was that I was lucky enough to sit next to Lesley Norris, who is the head of Betty’s product development for retail, she shared with me the delights of her role and I was intrigued to hear all she had to say!

Lesley shared with me that she occasionally gets to travel to research new product ideas. On her latest visit abroad, with the head of packaging, she visited a vintage antique fair and stumbled across a hand made, wooden vintage jewellery box filled with tiny drawers. From that one small find they created the master piece that is the Belmont Chocolate Box.

It’s a delightful little chest filled with intricate drawers each packed with Betty’s finest chocolates. There were so many varieties in there I couldn’t keep track! And the best thing is you can keep the box afterwards to use as a gorgeous little jewellery box on your dressing table. The colour way is naturally perfect!  It costs £95.

For the Class Teacher – Tin of Spiced Christmas Shortbread

I quite often buy these Christmas Spiced biscuits for the girls teachers, mainly because they are so delicious! I also love them because the tin is so pretty and I like to think it can get used again for pens or such like! A tin of biscuits costs £7.50

For the Small People’s Christmas Eve Treat – White Chocolate Ganache Snowman

The small people are excited enough about Christmas but it’s really nice to have a special before bedtime treat on Christmas Eve, just like the grown ups do with their Tipple of choice 😉

These ganache snowmen are almost too cute to eat, but they usually end up being polished off in no time! I’m hoping they remember to leave one out for Father Christmas this year!

Enjoying a taste of Betty’s at home for Christmas

It’s all well and good gifting Betty’s treats to others at Christmas, but sometimes you just want to keep some for yourself! Here’s what’s making my list of things that are coming home with me this year to enjoy over the festive period!

Chocolate Snowman Cake

This chocolate snowman cake is only available to pre-order and makes a fab alternative to a traditional Christmas cake, which my small people don’t eat! I already know that this is going to taste so fab that the grown ups are all going to be after a piece too! It’s £26.95.

Riciarelli Mince Pies

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without mince pies, but if you’re looking for something a bit different from a traditional mince pie then you can’t go far wrong with one of Betty’s Riciarelli topped ones! They are hands down my absolute favourite mince pies from anywhere! From 80p each in the shop or a box of twelve (half Riciarelli, half Frangipane) for £12.50.

Stollen Bites

We were lucky enough to taste these at the blogger event and they were to.die.for! They are Stollen loaves which are diced, dipped in rum and melted butter then dusted with snowy icing sugar! They’d make a perfect Christmas supper bite once everyone’s tucked up after all the excitement and you’ve finally got your feet up!

Bloggers!

Here’s a snap of all us local bloggers, it was fab to meet so many of them at this brilliant event. If you’re looking for more news from the Harrogate area then watch out for The Harrogate Girl, Kat who got the CreamMr Luke Christian, The Life Edit and Writings and Ramblings.

It was also a pleasure to meet fellow Mamas Little Miss Tiggy and Me and Orla who were both way braver than me and brought their gorgeous small charges with them! It made for a very festive feeling all round!

Can you spot my Christmas jumper?!

A huge thanks to Bettys for hosting such a great event, we each left with a goody bag, £10 voucher and a gift from under the Christmas tree. Mine was a white chocolate snowman – which my small people are desperate to get their hands on!
