The Kestrel in Harrogate – Newly Refurbished

We cheered ourselves up no end on the rainiest of Easter Bank Holiday Monday’s I can remember, by heading out to visit the recently refurbished The Kestrel, on Wetherby Road in Harrogate.

It’s a great spot for large family groups meeting up and the new setting had a lovely atmosphere and was looking very smart and shiny after its recent refurbishment.

The kids menu offered a good selection of all the regular favourites. The Small Boy went for pasta and veg sticks and the Big Girls burger and sweet potato fries and grilled chicken respectively! There was also a roast dinner option for them to choose from too.

I decided to go for the salmon fishcakes, served with roasted vegetable and Harrogate Papa decided on the Chicken and Thyme pie. The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was really cosy with log fires burning as we looked out onto the torrential rain!

The Smalls all devoured their puddings come dessert time! A blackberry meringue pie and the ever classic Sticky Toffee Pudding for the Big Girls and the Small boy wolfed down his chocolate ice cream which was just £1 from the kids menu. A great price!

It was a great way to spend some family time together on the dreariest of bank holidays and The Kestrel really is looking very smart after its latest update – it looks like a great spot for the summer days ahead too with some lovely outdoor space!

Disclaimer – The Kestrel invited us in to review, the views, as always are my own.
