Last week Mr P and I had a really rare night to ourselves at home, the big girls were out at a sleepover and the Small Boy was in bed by 7pm, so we had the luxury of a whole evening ahead without interuption.
It was a Friday night, at the end of a busy week, so Mr P and I settled on the only date night available to parents without a babysitter which was a movie and a takeaway! All the excitement!
We Mr P ? picked on the film, Deep Water Horizon, a disaster movie, which main saving grace was that it starred Mark Wahlberg as the lead character and we both decide that the nations favourite takeaway, Indian, was to be the meal of choice!
Gratuitous shot of the hero! ?Fortunately for us Harrogate’s Cardamom Black Indian Restaurant have just started running their own FREE delivery service! Which meant that neither of us had to leave the comfort of the central heated house in order to actually go and get our takeaway! Awesomeness!
Winning at life when your date night looks like this! ?We may have slightly over ordered as we picked from the menu, we were pretty ravenous by 7pm. You need to phone the order through once you’ve chosen from their online menu and then they bring the meal straight to your door.
Even better still you can pay over the phone with your card, so there’s no need to scramble around at home hoping you’ve got some cash lying around!
Huge box full of deliciousness!Twenty minutes after our order had been placed a really friendly young chap knocked on the door, in a smart shirt and tie and handed us a huge box heaving with enough food for four people. At which point we spared a fleeting thought for the big girls and muttered something about the fact that they would probably have liked this too, before cracking open the bottles of beer!
Delivery is available within a three mile radius of the restaurant and charged at £1 per mile thereafter, minimum orders are for the value of £20 and you can order anything off the menu!
Meal fit for a date night! The portions were really generous!The food was great, I couldn’t rate it highly enough, it was hot, well presented, there was plenty of it and all tasted amazing! We ordered a Chicken Rogan Josh, Creamy Mix Veg Makhani, two types of Naan, a Chapati, the house Pilau and enough Popadoms to feed the whole street all for around £35.
Would quite like to eat this again immediately!The Creamy Mix Vegetable Makhani was really tasty, the veg was fresh with a bit of a bite to it and the sauce was rich and creamy. I had the Peshwari Naan, which would have done as a meal on it’s own and which I’m ashamed to say I did eat all of, by myself! Gah! The house Pilau was great and the popadoms were really light and not greasy at all!
Not my most glamorous photo! ?All in all it was the perfect Takeaway, made all the better for the fact that it was actually delivered! Amazing! Will we definitely be ordering from Cardamom Black again.
As you can tell from the photo above Mr P was way too impatient to tuck into his meal to take time taking a decent photo ? But in truth, that’s pretty much what date night looks like when you’re a Mama! In your sweatshirt, enjoying a delicious meal you didn’t have to cook or go out for, with no kids around, with your other half by your side, silently high fiving each other for getting through the week with the Small people! Pretty heavenly in my book!
